Boat Charter Marketing for Fleets
This page is for the operator with a dock full of day boats. Motorboats, RIBs, license-free rentals, a catamaran for groups. Four to twenty hulls, a season that runs six months, and a business that lives or dies on weekday utilization.
Grow Your Charter runs Facebook and Instagram advertising for boat charter companies. Direct inquiries, qualified, exclusive to you, paid per inquiry. Here is how boat charter marketing works when you have a fleet, and where the money actually leaks.
The platform problem, in numbers
Many boat rental fleets get well over half of their bookings through platforms. Click&Boat, Samboat, GetMyBoat, Boatsetter, Nautal. The platforms are useful. They fill gaps and they bring people you would never have found.
They also cost between 10% and 20% of every booking, they show your boat next to fifty others sorted by price, and the guest belongs to them. Next summer that family searches the platform again, not you.
Run the math on an 800,000 euro season at 65% platform share. That is roughly 520,000 euros through platforms, and 52,000 to 104,000 euros in commission. Move the platform share to 40% and you keep 25,000 to 50,000 euros, and you own the contact of every guest who booked direct.
That is what boat charter marketing is for at fleet size. Not brand awareness. Direct booking share.
What advertising does that platforms and posts don't
Posts reach your followers. Good for trust. Useless for reaching the German family landing in Palma next Tuesday.
Platforms reach people who already opened the platform. By then you are one of fifty options and price is the only variable.
Advertising reaches people before they open a platform. A short video of guests on your boat, shown to people planning a trip to your area, with a way to ask for a date without leaving the app. They come to you first, with the full price and your name.
How we run it for a fleet
One campaign per boat class. A fleet's advantage over a one-boat operator is that you have a boat for every kind of guest. So we speak to each guest separately. Families see kids on the bow of the family boat. Groups see twelve people on the catamaran. Couples see the sunset. Each campaign has its own footage, its own audience and its own form.
Footage from every trip. Your skippers are on the water every day with the best film crew in the business: the guests. A five-shot list per trip, vertical, thirty seconds of the skipper's time. That library runs your ads all season and it is the one thing no competitor can copy.
Audiences by origin market and month. Boat rental guests in Mallorca come from Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and mainland Spain, and each one books in a different month. We run the audiences that book the month the ads are live.
A form that filters. Someone who cannot afford the boat, or has a group the boat cannot take, never reaches your phone. Your team quotes people who fit.
Delivery to the number on duty. Inquiries land on WhatsApp so whoever is on the phone that evening can reply in minutes.
The part that decides everything: who answers
An inquiry is a person who filled in a form on three boats at 22:40. The first fleet to reply usually gets the booking. At fleet size that cannot depend on the owner seeing the phone. It needs a system. One number for every inquiry. A written rule for first reply time. Two people on rotation for evenings. WhatsApp Business quick replies so the first message takes ten seconds. Three follow-ups saved as templates.
We give you that system. It costs nothing and it multiplies everything else on this page. Read more in yacht charter lead generation.

Boat charter marketing FAQ
How do I get more direct bookings for my boat rental? Reach people before they open a platform. Video advertising on Instagram and Facebook does that. Then reply within minutes and follow up twice. Then message every past guest in March. Most fleets do none of the three.
Can I keep the platforms? Yes. Keep them, cap them, and turn every platform guest into your guest with a review ask on the boat and a message before next season.
How much should a fleet spend on ads? It depends on how many boat classes you run and how many weekdays you need to fill. Tell us the fleet and the average booking and we'll give you a number for your case instead of a generic one.
Do I need a website? Not to start. The inquiry happens inside Instagram and Facebook. A fast page per experience helps later. A homepage video that takes five seconds to load on hotel wifi does not.
We have two bases. Does that change anything? Yes. Each base gets its own campaigns, its own footage and its own Google Business Profile. A guest in Alcudia does not want to drive to Palma.
