Marketing for Yacht Charters
You run a fleet. Three boats, six, twelve. Skippers on payroll, a booking manager, berths that cost the same whether the boat goes out or not. Your problem is not that nobody knows you exist. Your problem is a Tuesday in June with two boats at the mooring, and a calendar that is 65% full when it should be 85%.
Grow Your Charter is an advertising agency for boat charter companies. We run Facebook and Instagram advertising that brings you qualified inquiries, people with a date, a group and a budget who want a boat like yours. You pay per qualified inquiry. No retainer, no setup fee, no posting packages.
This page explains what marketing for yacht charters means at fleet size, what we do, what we don't do, and what it takes on your side to make it work.
Two numbers that matter more than followers
Utilization. Boats times sailable days, against days actually sailed. Six boats and 150 sailable days is 900 boat-days. If you sailed 580 of them you are at 64%. Every point of utilization on a 1,500 euro average booking is worth around 13,500 euros a season. Ten points is 135,000 euros with the same boats, the same crew and the same berth fees.
Direct booking share. The part of your revenue that comes to you without a platform or a broker in the middle. Many mid-sized fleets sit between 30% and 40% direct. The rest pays 10% to 20% commission and hands the guest's contact to someone else.
Everything we do is judged against those two numbers. Not against likes.
What we do
Advertising on Meta, one campaign per boat class. A fleet has boats for different guests. Families on the day boat, groups of ten on the catamaran, couples on the sunset charter, a crewed week on the flagship. Each one gets its own campaign with its own footage and its own audience. One generic ad for the whole fleet pulls the wrong people for every boat.
Your real footage, cut for the phone. The anchor hitting the sand at the cove. The first jump off the bow. Lunch on the flybridge. Short vertical videos, made from clips your skippers already shoot. No stock footage. No boat-at-the-dock photos.
Audiences by season and origin market. People planning a trip to your area, in the months they book, from the countries that actually charter with you. Germans and Brits in May and September in Mallorca. Domestic US travelers in Miami in winter. GCC families in Dubai in spring.
Inquiries that are qualified and exclusive. Someone who sees the ad can ask for a date without leaving Instagram. A short form filters out the people your boats cannot serve. Each inquiry goes to you and only you. We never sell the same person to two charters.
Straight to your team's phone. Inquiries arrive on WhatsApp so the person on duty can reply while the guest is still on their phone.
What we don't do
We don't build websites. We don't do SEO or "content strategy". We don't post on your Instagram three times a week. We don't take a monthly retainer and send you a report.
We run advertising for boat charters and we get paid when it produces a qualified inquiry. That's the whole business.
What it takes on your side
This is the part most agencies leave out, so here it is up front.
Someone who owns the phone. An inquiry that arrives at 22:40 and gets answered at 08:30 has usually booked with the fleet that answered at 22:44. At fleet size, "someone answers" has to be a system: one number, a written reply-time rule, and an evening rotation between the booking manager and a skipper who is not sailing tomorrow. Read how to handle charter inquiries at fleet scale.
Footage from every trip. Four skippers, six boats and nobody films is the most common problem we see. A five-shot list per trip fixes it. One WhatsApp group for the clips. Thirty seconds of a skipper's time.
Your own Meta ad account. We work inside it. You pay Meta directly for the ad spend. You keep the pixel, the audiences and the data if we ever part ways.
Real prices for the month the ads run. Not the website's low-season half-day rate. What is actually bookable in July.
How a season looks
March. Offer per boat class, audiences, first cut of the ads from last season's footage.
April to June. Campaigns live for the early markets. Germans, Brits, Dutch, Scandinavians. Fill the May and June weekdays that used to sit empty.
July and August. Peak. Spanish mainland and French travelers join. The work here is on the phone, not on the ads.
September and October. Shoulder season. Inquiries cost more and reply rates drop. The offer has to do the work. Couples, sunset charters, end-of-season rates.
Winter. Miami and Dubai run through it. Mallorca fleets use it to build the guest list for March.
Who this is for
Charter companies with a fleet and a team. Day charters on motorboats, RIBs and sailing yachts. Luxury day charters with crew. Catamaran day trips. Crewed weekly charters. Boat rentals by the hour or the day.
We run campaigns in Mallorca, Miami and Dubai, and take on fleets in other places when they fit.
If you have one boat and no one to answer the phone in the evening, this is not the right fit yet. Build the footage and the reply habit first. Our guide to marketing a yacht charter business covers every channel, what each one really brings and what it costs.
What it costs
You pay per qualified inquiry. The price is set against your average booking, so a fleet of 800 euro day boats and a fleet of 8,000 euro crewed charters pay in proportion. Ad spend goes to Meta from your own account. No retainer, no setup fee, no long contract.
Marketing for yacht charters FAQ
What is the best marketing for a yacht charter company? For a fleet, advertising on Instagram and Facebook with real footage, one campaign per boat class, and a form that qualifies before the inquiry reaches you. Then a reply system that answers in minutes. Platforms fill gaps. Google Ads pay off on the crewed end. Everything else is detail.
Does Facebook advertising work for yacht charters? Yes, when three things are true. The ad shows the real experience on your boat. The audience is people who are going to your area in the months they book. And someone answers the inquiry fast. Miss any of the three and it doesn't. See Facebook ads for yacht charters.
How is this different from a general marketing agency? We only work with boat charters. We know what a skipper can film in thirty seconds, which origin market books which month, and what a family with three kids needs to hear before they send a date. A general agency learns that on your budget.
Do you replace booking platforms? No. Keep them for the gaps. Our inquiries are direct, so you keep the full price and the guest's contact for next year.
Do you handle the calls? Your team does. We give you the reply system, the timing and the follow-up cadence. Who answers, and how fast, decides most of what the advertising is worth.
How fast do inquiries start? Usually within days of a campaign going live in season.
Which areas do you cover? Mallorca and the Balearics, Miami and South Florida, Dubai. Other places when the fleet fits.
